As far as that part goes, you're right. However, someone wanting to make $APP work on raspberry pi 1 level of hardware, and complain to the LLM that electron is so laggy as to be unusable, then I also imagine the LLM is capable of suggestion rewriting $APP with $FOO technology that is the tight low-memory CPU-sipping version of $APP.

We sometimes encounter a bug that turns the view gray (an Electron memory overflow issue in VS Code), which is annoying because nothing is visible.

Yes, however, a small change of the cursor size doesn't work for me for the Neo lag (idk about the TV app).

Terrible fix but it's a fix that's minimally-invasive and addresses a bug that causes a disproportionate annoyance to the fix. I can imagine your cursor lagging is something that is extremely annoying over time.

The whole point of extensibility is that you, or your company, can program what you need from your IDE, without having to make a whole IDE from scratch. I have since moved on to making my own IDE, mostly because I hate Electron and its >1gb memory footprint, but vscode served me so much better than anything else for years, without installing a single rando's extension.

The "million row limit" in Excel is a relic. Even when using tools like VS Code or Notepad++ for large files, the memory pressure often makes the UI unusable.

These assertions are not interdependent, they are just observations of the app. The article is still not arguing Electron can only be slow/buggy (though it has previously asserted it must be bloated by nature) nor is the app asserting why Anthropic has made these design choices yet.

This means your vim, jetbrains, whatever muscle memory from a lifetime of professional dev work becomes useless, and you have to use a gimped text editor worse than notepad++. You can use an external editor, but then lots of things don't work very well, scenes get randomly corrupted, hot reloading doesn't work, etc.
